5 Reasons To Lift A Jeep Wrangler

Have you ever thought about lifting your Jeep Wrangler? If you ask us, it’s a great idea. There are several good reasons to lift your Jeep Wrangler:

1. Lifting Your Jeep Gives It A Rugged Look

Jeep Wranglers are as rugged as they come. Yet, lifting one will make it look even more rugged. It’ll be taller and mightier compared to stock Jeep Wranglers. Also, lifting a Jeep Wrangler means you need to add aftermarket accessories (such as shocks) to go with for the extra height. This is a prime opportunity to enhance your Jeep’s appearance and give it a custom look.

If you need some inspiration, check out this 2021 Jeep Wrangler we lifted in our shop:

This lifted Jeep Wrangler looks a whole lot more rugged than the stock version. We lifted this bod boy with a Rough Country 4-inch lift kit and Vertex shocks. We also outfitted it with accessories that contributed to the rugged look, including:

  • Fuel wheels (with a 44mm offset)
  • Nitto tires
  • Rough Country AL2 drop steps
  • MagnaFlow exhaust kit
  • A custom front bumper with a winch
  • A custom rear bumper

If you ask us, the Jeep wouldn’t look nearly this great if it wasn’t lifted 4”.

2. Lifting Your Jeep Wrangler Increases Its Ground Clearance

When you go off-roading, you want to ensure that your Jeep can handle anything Mother Nature throws at it. One of the best ways to do this is to lift your Jeep Wrangler. You’ll get extra ground clearance. The body and frame will be higher. This means your Jeep’s underside is safer from rocks, bushes, and other obstacles that can damage the parts in that area.

The higher ground clearance means better approach, breakover, and departure angles. These things make all the difference off road.

3. You’ll See Much Farther Down The Road In A Lifted Jeep Wrangler

When you lift your Jeep, you’ll ride higher. That means better visibility, as you can see much farther down the road. This is a great benefit on the road and off the road alike.

4. Lifting A Wrangler Improves Articulation

Articulation describes the ability of an axle to move in a way that allows one wheel to go up, while the other wheel goes down. A lift allows for more articulation than a stock Jeep. Greater articulation allows the suspension to:

  • Let the wheel going over a boulder to rise higher than it would on a stock Jeep.
  • Let the wheel going into a depression to sink lower than it would on a stock Jeep.

One big benefit of greater articulation are that the Jeep can better maintain traction, because the wheels can more easily stay in contact with the ground. The other big benefit is that the increased articulation allows the Jeep to ride flatter over obstacles. This is both more comfortable and safer.

5. Lifting Your Jeep Wrangler Is A Great Way To Customize It

You have a wide variety of lift kits to choose from. Whatever your reason for lifting your Jeep, you’ll find a lift kit that helps you achieve your goal(s).

Also, lifting your Jeep is a prime opportunity to change up its appearance. For example, you can make your lifted Jeep look like a tank. You can put a little camouflage paint on it, or even get custom wheels and tires. There are a variety of different styles, colors, and designs you can choose from.
