Karl’s ’32 Is A Street Rod Of The Year Finalist
At Karl Kustoms, we don’t only sell a variety of high quality performance parts and accessories. We also offer installation and customization services for both modern and classic autos.
We have an experienced team of experts that specialize in all areas of customization including:
- Restoration
- Custom upholstery
- Custom painting
- Body work
In fact, we love customizing vehicles so much that we do it for fun, too. Carl Moyer, the owner of Karl Kustoms, is the proud owner of several stunning restored classic vehicles. We’re proud to say that we completely restored and customized some of these vehicles in our shop.
One of our masterpieces is this 1932 Chevy:
This work of art is a part of Carl Moyer’s collection. We spared no expense while restoring this classic car. After we spent countless hours completely restoring this car, we brought it to the 2019 Goodguys Heartland Nationals. All our hard work paid off when the car won the Builders Choice Award!
This past July, we brought the ’32 Chevy back to the Iowa State Fairgrounds to feature it at the 2020 Goodguys Heartland Nationals. And guess what? We brought home another award! This time, it was a Street Rod of the Year finalist award.
Even though we would’ve loved to win the Street Rod of the Year award, being a finalist was still a big honor. We had a great time at the 2020 Goodguys Heartland Nationals, and we can’t wait to return next year.
More recently, the car just was selected as one of the top 5 in Goodguys’ 2020 March Performance Street Rod d’Elegance category. The overall winner hasn’t been announced yet as of this writing. We put together a video about the car for competition. You can view it here
What Makes This ’32 Chevy Special?
This one-of-a-kind classic car garners a lot of positive attention everywhere it goes.
We put a lot of love and care into restoring this car. You can find many neat details inside and outside, as well as within the engine bay. Many upgrades brought this car to the 21st century. We took great care to restore its appearance, too. The result? A unique blend of modern upgrades mixed with old world charm.
Check out the original hood ornament and emblem!
A quick walk around the ’32 Chevy will reveal many cool details. For example, you’ll find:
- ’34 commercial headlights
- Dayton Wire Wheels that match the stunning blue paint job
If you open the hood, you’ll find a clean engine bay with quality parts that give this car more power than it has ever seen in its lifetime:
- GMZZ383 crate engine with an Inglese injection system
- GM 4L65E transmission
If you look underneath the car, you’ll find:
- A custom-built exhaust system
- A coilover suspension system
Both modern upgrades accommodate the extra power the new engine produces.
Last, but not least, let’s take a look inside the car.
You can credit us for the stunning custom leather interior. We stayed true to the original door panel design while making the seats more comfortable.
To stay true to the original design, we outfitted the dash with Classic Instruments gauges.
