Carl Showcases The ’35 Chevy
“So then one day here comes the old man and he drops a bomb on you. We’re gonna take this gem of an absolutely perfect, brand-new ’35 Chevy Coupe, and now we’re gonna make it what I would have considered a really high-line street rod in the ’50s and early ’60s.”
-Carl Moyer
The first stop for May’s Virtual Summer Nights tour was the Karl Kustoms ’35 Chevy. Carl Moyer talks with Dennis Garland, the man responsible for overseeing this beautiful resto-mod, about the work invested.
It’s gone from tan to black, had a frame-off restoration, added 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes, a ’56 Chevy 235 straight-six engine, and much more.
Karl Kustoms Hot Rods For Sale
Here at Karl Kustoms, we love our hot rods, and from time to time, we share the love and put them up for sale.
Recently we’ve offered a fully-restored 1940 Ford with vintage AC and a ZZ4 crate engine. We also posted a beautiful blue Ford Model A Pickup perfect for Sunday driving.
Another exciting vehicle offered was a 2-owner ’77 Corvette with 12k miles and a rebuilt engine. It doesn’t get much better than a like-new Stingray.
Carl’s Personal Garage
In the video, Carl gives the crew another tour of his personal hot rod collection. One of the highlights is a 1932 Buick sedan acquired from Carl’s childhood neighbor. It’s fully restored and quite the looker.
The next stop on the tour is a ’38 Chevy 2-door sedan with only 28k actual miles. It’s almost all original. Carl didn’t enjoy the ride, so he snuck in a late-model 383 drivetrain, lowered it, and threw in a new sound system among other things.
Then there is the story of how Carl rubbed shoulders with Rick Hendrick and Dale Earnhardt Jr. in acquiring his hot-off-the-press 2011 Camaro SS. It’s quite the tale. Check out the video at the top of this page for all the details.
Inside The Chassis Dyno
Lastly, we get a look into the tech-savvy brain of Karl Kustoms tuner Robbie Massey. Massey explains the ins-and-outs of the tuning process and why it’s crucial to ensuring your performance mods reach their full potential.
