LS364/450HP Crate Engine

One of the most popular crate engines available today, the LS364/450 is the crate engine version of the 6.0L LQ9. However, unlike an original LQ9 (also known as the Vortec HO 6000 or the VortecMAX), the LS364/450 has several upgrades:

• Upgraded cylinder heads
• High lift camshaft (LS6 cam like this one)
• Slightly higher compression ratio (10.3 vs. 10.1)

These improvements are the reason that the LS364/450 makes substantially more power than the LQ9.

• LS364/450 – 452 hp @ 5,600 RPM, 441 lb-ft @4,800 RPM
• LQ9 – 345hp @ 5,200 RPM, 380 lb-ft @ 4,000 RPM

Yet just like the original LQ9, the LS364/450 is a strong motor that’s built to run. And it’s also one of the most affordable Chevrolet Performance crate engines available, especially on a dollar per horsepower basis.

What’s Included

The LS364/450 is sold without an intake manifold, front accessory drive system, ignition, or fuel system. If you’re swapping this engine out with another LS series motor, you may be able to re-use what you have. Otherwise, you’ll want to check out our accessory drive systems, LS intake manifolds, and either our fuel injection systems or carb options.

Important Notes

• This engine comes with a Gen III LQ9 truck oil pan
• Can be used with either 3 or 4 bolt cable-driven throttle body
• Must use a 3-bolt Drive-By-Wire (DBW) throttle body with an adapter if staying with the DBW throttle
• Assembly does not include electronics
• Intake manifold is not included; Any intake manifold you install must be matched to the LS3 or L92 style intake ports (which are rectangular)
• LS3 or L96 production intake manifolds can be used, but require an aftermarket adapter plate for use with early LS three-bolt throttle bodies
• Not intended for marine applications
