Unique algorithms enable the 8L90-E to deliver shift performance that rivals the quickest dual-clutch/semiautomatic transmissions found in many supercars – but with the smoothness and refinement that comes with a conventional automatic fitted with a torque converter.  A numerically high 4.56 first gear ratio offers strong take-off performance while a wide 7.0:1 overall ratio helps enhance cruising efficiency.
